How to make your uploads StrongerHow to make your uploads Stronger
This is a guide to making your uploads more individual and taken more seriously.
Not a absolute answer guide, just some suggestions.
* Try not to upload 10 images in a row, make sure you only upload 1-2 each day.
People need time to look through their center and if you upload to much, they are most likely to jump over a few of them.
The other thing is that it might seem to people that you just snapshot and upload right away, even though you might used a lot of time on it.
*What title should i give my image? Make sure you give a title you think suits the image, a image with a strong title makes the artwork
itself better and change the way people see the theme and concept.
My suggestion is that you think about the feeling you had when you worked on the image, or the feeling you want the image to show.
Let`s say you worked on a painting that reminded you about your childhood. You there have many titles; Childhood
Art Theft on Ebay (a lot of deviants found)A while ago i stumbled upon a Shop on Ebay that sells prints. Even though im not familiar with all the pictures there... I recognized a few i knew for sure and some that looked strangely familiar from deviantArt.
All i know is, that a lot of deviants are being ripped off.

Writing Better Character DescriptionWriting Better Character Description
by Michael Bjork
We writers have a particularly tough job: bringing nonexistent people (our characters) to life in our readers’ imaginations. While it’s never easy, we usually accomplish this magic by writing each character with two qualities in mind:
1) Their personality
2) Their physical appearance
Personality is usually expressed through characterization, and appearance through physical description. Admittedly, that doesn't sound so complicated.
But there are two things I’ll suggest today: first, that description needs to do more than just craft appearance, and second, it’s good characterization, more than anything, that’s the key to conjuring vivid characters.
Let’s take a look at the following example.
1) When I entered Mr. Smith's office, he stood from his desk and smiled. He had a big nose, brown eyes, and short, blond hair. He wore a dark suit. I shook his hand.
AR-News : Welcome to the World of MacroMacro Photography Gallery - The Changes
The Macro Gallery has now its own Gallery Director, me, who will take care of this tiny and delicate gallery. Why did this gallery get its own GD ? Because it needs some love and some more attention and also a major clean-up.
What is new in the Macro Gallery ?
The Macro gallery will only be for real macro from now on. It did get a new description and hopefully anyone who submits there and who isnt sure what macro is or if his/ her image belongs there, will read it .
The definition of macro is capturing an image of a subject the same size or larger than life size on the recording media, whether that be film or digital sensor size. For example if you photograph an insect that is 2 cm (3/4 inch) long, it's image will be 2 cm (3/4 inch)long on the film or digital sensor. The smaller the recording media the smaller the subject must be. Cropping an image does not make a close-up image a macr

How to: ColorAs a follow up of my "How to: Anatomy" journal that was received so well by the community, I will continue this series with a how to on color.
Color is considered to be one of the hardest subjects when it comes to art. Most beginners (and even some advanced artists) struggle to get the colors of their work right. I myself do as well. This journal is by no means a full coverage on how to color. It will however be a good list of resources to get you started on this hard subject.
A few things to get started
There are a few things to color
There's hue and value. Hue determines what place in the color spectrum the color is in (red, green, blue.. etc). Value determines how dark or light a color is. In order to understand colors, you have to know how to influence and work with both of them.
Your brain is deceiving you

About Art and We ArtistsIt happens often. I will go to my inbox and see a journal post or reply from some poor artist here at DA, saying that their parents (most often) or other loved ones think that art is a waste of time and there will never be any money in it.
It always echoes what I heard growing up. And it always made me angry.
You don't have to work in a factory or mill, and you don't have to have a high rise office to make money. There are millions of other jobs in this world that do pay - and pay well. Someone designs ketchup commercials. Someone paints Christmas cards. Someone, somewhere, molds model horses. (Kathleen Moody, anyone?) And guess what? They get paid for it.
I won't waggle a finger at anyone's parents. It's not my place. But it is infinitely sad to see those that are responsible for nurturing and development stifle what could be a great and talented artist.
As I've said many times, non-art folks just don't seem to understand, for the most part. I won't say all. Some do. Most don't. How m
DeviantART - The New Myspace? From a young age, I have belonged to a number of "social networking" websites. Faceparty, Facebook, Bebo, Livejournal - you name it, I've had it. There are literally hundreds of these social networking websites all over the internet, some more successful than others. Perhaps the most notorious of these websites is Myspace.
At the moment, Myspace is the sixth most popular website Worldwide. There are currently over 100 million profiles on Myspace, with the website attracting 230,000 more sign-ups every day. Myspace is a common topic amongst the young and old, I have heard the phrase "Oh my God, this is SO going on Myspace!" more times than I care to mention. So what's this phenomenon all about?
Myspace has blogs, email, messenger, bulletins and photo galleries which are used as a means of communication between users. The photo galleries have created a new breed of fashion - "Myspace Kids" (otherwise known as "Scenesters" or "Myspace Whores.") The Myspacers collect comments from other us
